Set in a shadowed town shaped by ritual, power, and unspoken belief, The Giver follows a Mayor consumed by the search for a figure both feared and revered—the Giver himself. Rendered in a 17th-century Golden Age visual language, the story unfolds through candlelit interiors, heavy skies, and moments of quiet tension, where authority and doubt coexist. The illustrations draw on classical composition and chiaroscuro to explore themes of control, devotion, and the unseen forces that govern a community.
